| For 125 years, Latteria Soresina, an important Italian cooperative in the dairy sector, has been promoting quality and tradition in a more and more sustainable way. | |||
Keeping up with the timesOne hundred and twenty-five years without stopping for even a single day. The history of Latteria Soresina shows how the company has been able to interpret market signals and respond to changing needs through growing efficiency and innovation. Today, all the goodness of milk from cows raised within a certified supply chain and processed according to tradition using innovative techniques is ready to be enjoyed in practical PET and rPET bottles blown by the EBS 6 KL ERGON stretch-blow moulder, equipped with “ReduxAir” moulds, an efficient system that performs stretch-blow moulding operations at lower pressures than those typically used. | ![]()

Reviving past traditions through sustainable packagingThe constant commitment to bringing past traditions back to life within an increasingly globalized world is what drives Latteria Soresina to continuously search for the best products, focusing on quality, innovation, sustainability and wellbeing of people, animals and the environment. Nothing is overlooked: great care is taken at every stage of the production process, from milking to packaging, using solutions inspired by the 4 Rs of sustainability: Reduction, Recycled, Recyclable and Renewable.

Focus on Latteria SoresinaLatteria Soresina was established on 5th February 1900 in the town of Soresina (province of Cremona) from the close synergy between farmers and milk producers: an associative form that, today as well as at that time, represents the most suitable model to turn the close bonds between its associates into operational reality. The extraordinary journey of the milk, 100% Italian, produced by the 46,000 cows raised on the farms of the Po Valley, starts every morning at 5 a.m., when transporters collect it from more than 200 associated farmers to transport it to the plants of Latte Soresina, ensuring fresh daily processing, which results in high-quality products.

SMI solutions for Latteria SoresinaThe SMI EBS 6 KL ERGON stretch-blow moulder, installed at the plant in Soresina, enables the company to increase production in order to meet the growing demand for fresh milk bottled in PET and rPET containers made with 50% recycled plastic. Furthermore, the company uses increasingly lightweight preforms, helping to optimize distribution and reduce environmental impact.

ReduxAir mouldsThe moulds installed on the EBS 6 KL ERGON stretch-blow moulder are equipped with the ReduxAir bottom, which, thanks to specific technical and design features, allows for a much faster release of the air between the outer walls of the bottle and the surface of the mould. It is therefore possible to produce the 0.5 L container with an air pressure of 20 bar and the 1 L container with 25 bar (significantly lower pressures than the approximately 35 bar normally used), ensuring a major advantage in terms of energy savings and environmental protection, thanks to the reduced operation of the high-pressure air compressor.
Low-consumption preform heatingThe innovative and compact preform heating tunnel of the stretch-blow moulders from SMI is equipped with an aluminium diffuser that ensures optimal temperature control and prevents any risk of overheating. Energy costs for the production of the bottles are also reduced thanks to the use of highly energy-efficient IR lamps.
AirMaster recovery systemThe EBS 6 KL ERGON stretch-blow moulder is equipped with a two-stage air recovery system called AirMaster, which adds a second device to the standard air recovery system in order to recover and recycle part of the high-pressure blowing air, ensuring significant savings in compressed-air consumption and energy costs.
